Maheshwari Sales Corporation
Redefining Diagnostics through Innovation and Trust
In a sector where quality diagnostics can define patient outcomes, one organisation has quietly but consistently reshaped how public healthcare institutions access world-class laboratory technology. Guided by a commitment to efficiency, innovation, and equity, this journey reflects a long-standing belief that government hospitals deserve the same diagnostic standards as private healthcare facilities.
Founded in 1990 by Ajit Mukteshwar Inamdar, Maheshwari Sales Corporation began with a clear mission—to make advanced diagnostics accessible and affordable. What started as a modest initiative distributing a single diagnostic kit soon evolved into a comprehensive provider of end-to-end laboratory solutions for hospitals, primarily through government tenders. Within a short span, the company expanded its reach to eight hospitals and thirty-two municipal dispensaries, enabling nearly 4,000 diagnostic tests daily and strengthening public healthcare delivery across the PCMC region.
Building Capability, Not Just Infrastructure
A defining moment in the company’s evolution came in 2019, when Mr. Inamdar brought his son, Anup Inamdar, into the organisation to oversee technical operations and strategic execution. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the company demonstrated exceptional agility by operating RT-PCR laboratories and managing three COVID hospital labs under the PPP model. This phase reinforced its commitment to ensuring that diagnostic quality in government hospitals matched private-sector standards, even during crisis conditions.
A Distinctive Business Model
What truly sets Maheshwari Sales Corporation apart is its Zero CapEx, revenue-based model. By investing in advanced diagnostic machinery and offering hospitals access without heavy upfront capital expenditure, the company helps address funding constraints while keeping technology current. Hospitals are also empowered to select equipment from leading manufacturers based on clinical needs, diagnostic accuracy, and cost efficiency—ensuring optimal outcomes for both patients and administrators.
Scale, Impact, and Public Health Value
With installations in 750-bed and 200-bed government hospitals, the company goes beyond equipment supply. It enables resource optimisation, staff skill enhancement, and improved patient care delivery—contributing meaningfully to public health infrastructure.
Looking Ahead
As it looks to the future, Maheshwari Sales Corporation aims to expand its model to more government bodies, enter the corporate health check-up segment with on-site diagnostic services across India, and eventually export Indian laboratory solutions globally.
“With support from international platforms like GIBF, the company is poised to extend its impact beyond borders—while staying true to its core purpose of equitable, high-quality diagnostics for all,” shares Anup.
