Gulf countries have some of the highest standards of living in the world and the influx of foreign workers and investors are on the rise. The region has emerged as a top destination for thousands of offshore workers, making it one of the most important regions for working in the world. Many international companies and educational institutions have established their branches in the Gulf region, which has also increased the number of expats from different countries. The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries created millions of jobs in the last many years. Most of these jobs were taken by foreigners neighboring the Arab countries, South and Southeast Asian countries. Gulf countries, thus, have some of the highest standards of living in the world and the influx of foreign workers and investors are on the rise. The region boasts of enormous hydrocarbon natural resources and consistent political stability that have been responsible for making it a lucrative destination for many unskilled laborers and also for highly skilled foreign labor. It is very heartening to note that of late, the GCC countries are empowering women for entrepreneurship and are implementing reforms to include women in the economy.
